This policy explains what information YardScale collects, how we use it and the choices you have. It applies to our website, our app and the pages we host for the businesses we work with, such as quote and booking pages, questionnaires, onboarding forms, documents and messages. By using any of them you agree to this policy and to our Terms of Service.
Who we are
YardScale (“we”, “us”) provides marketing, lead management and customer communication tools to home-service businesses and the teams that support them. Some of our pages are used by those businesses’ own customers, for example to request a quote or book an appointment.
When we handle information on behalf of a business we work with (a “client”), we do so on their instructions, and that business is responsible for how it uses your information. Their own privacy policy also applies. If you contacted a business through one of our pages, you can ask that business directly about your information.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use our services, we may collect:
- Information you give us, such as your name, email, phone number, address, the details of your request, answers to questions, appointment choices, messages, files, signatures and payment details.
- Account information for people who sign in, such as name, email, role, settings and activity in the app.
- Communications, including text messages, emails and calls with you, and in some cases call recordings, along with delivery details such as whether a message was delivered, opened or clicked.
- Device and usage information, such as IP address, browser, device type, pages visited, referring links, ad and campaign details, and how you interact with a page. Some pages may record interactions to help improve them.
- Information from other sources, such as advertising platforms, connected business tools, calendars, payment providers and public or commercial data services. This can include details used to check or qualify a request, like phone number validity, property or area information, local weather events, public records and, where permitted and with any required consent, a soft credit inquiry that does not affect credit scores.
How we use information
- To provide, run and improve our services, including hosting pages, booking appointments and routing requests to the right business.
- To contact you about your request, appointment or account, and to send reminders and follow-ups.
- To check, qualify and prioritize requests, prevent spam and fraud, and keep our services secure.
- To measure and improve marketing, including sharing conversion events with advertising platforms.
- To process payments and billing.
- To power automated and AI-assisted features, such as drafting messages or summarizing information.
- To provide support, meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Text messages
If you give your phone number and agree to receive texts, you may get messages about your request, appointment or related offers from the business you contacted or from us. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is not a condition of any purchase.
We do not sell, rent or share mobile phone numbers or text messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes.
Emails and calls
Emails we send may include small tracking images and links that tell us whether a message was opened or a link was clicked. Marketing emails include a way to unsubscribe. Calls may be recorded where this feature is turned on and where allowed by law, and you may be told about this at the start of the call.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it:
- With the business you contacted or are working with, and the people that business authorizes.
- With service providers who help us run our services, such as hosting, databases, messaging, email, calling, payments, scheduling, analytics, advertising, data verification and AI providers, only as needed to do that work.
- With tools a business chooses to connect, such as its CRM, calendar or ad accounts.
- When required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, sale or similar change.
- With your permission or at your direction.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, understand how our pages are used and measure advertising. You can control cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.
How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as needed to provide our services, meet the instructions of the businesses we work with, resolve disputes and meet legal requirements. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, including encryption and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can opt out of texts by replying STOP and out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your information, or to object to certain uses. To make a request, contact the business you dealt with or contact us below. We may need to verify your identity, and we will not discriminate against you for using these rights.
Children
Our services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Where information is processed
Our services are operated in the United States. If you use them from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the date above when we do, and the updated policy applies from that date.
